Tasty Halva, Brittleness makes it a Messy SnackNov 17, 2011

This is a great tasting Halva. Lately, I have been purchasing foods imported from Greece to help bolster the flagging Greek economy. Fortunately, I was quite satisfied with this Halva as it is as good as any purchased in gourmet grocery stores in Chicago or NYC. Unfortunately, it is loaded with fat and fat calories so purchasing it in a one pound block can be hazardous to your diet. Additionally, it is brittle so it requires a plate or napkin to catch the crumbs. Ideally, the Halva should come in individually wrapped snack-sized portions so that mess would be minimized while fostering portion control. Limitations aside, this is a delicious snack for those with the appropriate will power.
