I find that whole wheat pastas sometimes have an uncooked, sort of raw wheat flavor. This Heartland brand is not in that category. I found it to cook in the same time as regular semolina pasta, with a great flavor and texture. It takes sauce well and has a very pleasant nutty, whole wheat flavor.

It's been a little tricky to consistently get the texture just right. For that reason I really only use this when I'm adding a heavier sauce with cheese or meat and don't have to worry about the pasta being the star of the show. But that's just laziness on my part. A bit grainy but still a good pasta when cooked perfectly. Prefer my gf's gluten free Tinkyada, but this is a way better deal.
