I use this product for cooking and in smoothies, and I love both the fragrance and the flavor, full of coconut subleties and intensity.
I keep the tub in the basement and have a smaller amount in the kitchen - not in the fridge, there it becomes very hard.
I'll definitely get this one again.

There are early reports that coconut oil may be helpful in preventing or even reversing Alzheimer's. It promotes heart health and supports your immune system. It's good for your skin--both taken internally and used as a moisturizer. For those who suffer from hypothyroidism, the medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) in the oil can help to speed up the body's sluggish metabolism, thereby promoting weight loss. MCFAs are also helpful for those suffering from chronic fatigue or simply needing an energy boost because MCFAs can permeate the membranes of the body's mitochondria without need for enzymes. Because MCFAs digest easily, stimulate the metabolism, and boost stamina, many athletes use coconut oil as a performance enhancer.
I've used coconut oil for years, both as a food and a moisturizer. I always buy this organic brand, because I prefer that products I purchase for my health foods not be tainted with pesticides.
Coconut oil has a wonderful flavor. It's great in smoothies, healthy cookies, used in homemade salad oil, and for cooking of all kinds. If you like the taste of coconut, you'll like the taste of coconut oil.
My only complaint about this product is that this 1 gallon/8 pound size may be "giant" but the price per pound doesn't make it an "economy size." The 54 oz. size sells here on Amazon, and if you buy it in a pack of two, it comes to as little as $20.08 a jar, and for a single jar only $23.87. That comes out to $5.95/pound and $7.08/pound respectively. In contrast, this large, 8-pounds size sells for $67.93, which comes to $8.50/pound.
