| | | Olive Oil | Home » » Partanna Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 101-Ounce Tin | | | | | | | Description: | | Produced by the Asaro Brothers Company in Partanna, Sicily, this oil is a first cold-pressed, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, but it is also an early harvest (October), single-olive varietal (Nocellara del Belice), unfiltered oil. When the tins are first opened, the oil is cloudy with a green hue, herbaceous aroma and 'pizzicante' flavor. (Pizzicante is an Italian phrase that describes the strong flavor that grips the back of your throat and is characteristic of most Tuscan olive oils.) As the oil ages it will mellow slightly and become clearer as the sediment drops to the bottom of the tin. The colorful packaging is beautiful enough to leave on your countertop and makes a terrific gift! | | | Features: | |

A Family favorite for as long as I can rememberSep 23, 2010
By Angela My family has used this oil for many years. We used to buy it in Brooklyn from the Asaro family store in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. They would put it in the cans while you waited. It is the only oil my mother used for her salads. She would say, "Get the good oil", and she meant the Partanna. After we moved to New Jersey, we would go back to Brooklyn periodically just to get this oil.

Very flavorful Extra Virgin Olive OilJan 15, 2011
By retired early I have tried many olive oils in the past with little to no flavor. This oil has a wonderful taste. You can use this oil ,almost as much as you would use butter, without all of the animal fat. I use use this oil for my salads, add to tuna fish instead of mayo, and use it once in a while to top off my cooking. My favorite way to cook with this oil is to fry eggs and garlic together, with a touch of sea salt and black pepper. I am glad to have found such a good tasting oil. Stay healthy , Retired early.

OH MY GOD!!!Feb 04, 2012
By TONY This is without a doubt the best oil you will EVER have..... PERIOD! I use this on salads with Oliver Balsamic vinegar from William Sonoma and it is positively amazing. Put a little in a dish with some oregano or whatever seasonings you like and dip in some fresh hot Italian bread and you will have an out of body experience. This is better than every other type of olive oil I have tried and believe me, I have tried loads of them!!!
the perfect olive oil!May 14, 2012
By mean incognito monkey I'm in love with Partanna olive oil. I am always willing try out others but I suspect I've found my go to every day olive oil right here. First of all, the flavor is rich, with complexity and delicacy too, but it's very full bodied. There's no question about it, you're using real olive oil when it's Partanna. (My complaint about olive oil lately, is the flavor is too mild.)
The color is a lovely green and the oil itself is clear. For all the years I've used olive oil, I haven't tasted or even seen a cloudy/fresh oil but I'm going to try to get a can after October when it's just been pressed, just for that experience. I'm sure it's delicious.
THis is the olive oil I've been looking for. It's not overpowering if you like the olive flavor - and this oil tastes like olives. Partanna is REAL olive oil, not generic vegetable oil, or the recent crop os vaguely flavored EVOOs. So if you like the rich flavor of olives, this may be for you.
enjoy!
