Good buy!Jan 06, 2007
By D. Simonson I'd been looking for whole wheat orzo for awhile, and it's almost impossible to find in any grocery stores. This is a very great pasta at a reasonable price. I've been very pleased with this pasta. One thing - If you are accustomed to the enriched wheat (non-whole grain) orzo, this is a lot firmer - and another thing I've noticed is that It develops a grainy texture if I leave a pasta in the fridge overnight.

Found, at last.Jan 06, 2009
By E. Bielaski I have been looking for this whole wheat orzo for the last year and none of my area grocery stores carry it. So I was delighted to find it on Amazon. It is very tasty made with sauteed green onions and several cloves of garlic and then added to 14 oz. boiled chicken broth and then simmered for 15 mins. (using 1 cup of the orzo). Very yummy tasting and good for you too.

Fantastic!Mar 23, 2010
By Mary B. Elder This Orzo is absolutely great. This is the first time I have eaten it and it blends beautifully with vegetables. I love salads and this is the way I used the Orzo.
ORZO SALAD

BRING ENOUGH WATER TO BOIL THAT WILL COVER THE ORZO ABOUT 1 AND 1/2 INCH OVER THE TOP. ADD THE ORZO TO THE BOILING WATER AND SALT TO TASTE. BOIL FOR 8 TO 10 MINUTES-DO NOT OVERCOOK. CHOP THE VEGGIES AND ADD THE CORN AND BLACK BEANS. DRAIN THE ORZO, RUN COLD WATER OVER THE PASTA AND ADD TO THE VEGGIES.
MIX THE VINEGAR, OLIVE OIL AND ONE PACKET OF SPLENDA TOGETHER- SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE- DRIZZLE OVER THE VEGGIES AND ORZO-MIX WELL.
WILL KEEP WELL 5 TO 6 DAYS IN THE REF.

Perfect pasta, healthy choiceDec 06, 2009
By Perrin This orzo is absolutely delicious, with a firm bite and an astounding 9 g of fiber in every serving (and when it comes to pasta, that's what you should be looking for on the package). This is the healthiest and most delicious choice I've found in whole grain pastas, bar none. The orzo shape is great for cold salads and hot dishes alike -- I really like making a hot caprese-style pasta dish with this stuff. I don't buy anything else ... and you can't beat Amazon's price for the 4-pack, particularly if you select the automatic shipment option (I get a new pack every 3 months).

ECONOMICAL WAY TO BUY A HARD TO FIND PRODUCTNov 10, 2009
By Jeanne Bruton After searching unsuccessfully in many grocery stores for whole wheat orzo, I was delighted to find this product at Amazon. Although you have to buy a lot, the shelf life is excellent, and the price is quite reasonable. I prefer the taste and texture to regular orzo, and the health benefit of whole grains is a plus. Although the directions tell you to boil and drain it like pasta, I cook it like rice. Simmer 1 cup orzo in 2 cups liquid stirring occassionally until liquid is absorbed and pasta is tender.
