Great ingredient but a little priceySep 30, 2010
By a scientist This is a lovely sauce. It's less of a sauce and more of a slightly chunky collection of mushrooms and olives in oil with a deep truffle flavour. I often incorporate it into tomato sauce (right at the end!) to create pizza sauces with lovely depth or pasta sauces that have a punch of the unexpected. I've tried truffle infused olive oils before and this works better for my purposes. However, I used to buy it one-third of the price advertised here. There just isn't that much truffle in here to justify the price plus the shipping.
