I've been searching for a product like this for a while now. A business associate of mine brought me some "pepper spread" that his Italian mother makes and it was great. So I started looking for a similar product in grocery stores and specialty shops. This is the first one that I would buy again. It's quite hot and delicious! I love to spread this on crusty bread and eat it along with dinner.

My family lives in the village where Tutto Calabria is based. In fact I just returned from there (they're 3 houses away from my family but that's another story LOL) All produce used by Tutto Calabria are organic and the recipies used are traditional to the region. The Celli family are wonderful kind ethical people who look to produce a superb product at an affordable price. Explore and trust me you won't be disappointed!!

This hot spread can be used on bread (forget mayonnaise) or thinned down with olive oil and serve with linguini and grated cheese.
I bought 4 jars!

I've been hooked on pepper spreads for a long time and especially since I was in Italy and brought home a few. I love the distinct Italian pepper flavors which are different than Mexican and Asian peppers. This spread is actually pretty mild but it does have a great, unique pepper spread flavor. it's also a lot of diced stuff, and reminds me of the texture of an olive tapenade. It is not super oily. there is oil that collects around the top when you first open it, but overall it's a pretty 'dry' spread as opposed to something that is soaked in olive oil and drips everywhere. That makes this very suitable for putting on crackers. It also works great for bread of course, though I'd want it more oily for breads. No problem though, just have some olive oil handy.
Because of the cost, I would not bother using this a part of a sauce. It's best as a spread or maybe used as topping for stuffed peppers or pizza. All in all it is very high quality and an excellent appertiva/tapas addition.

We buy this in Italy, when we are there, at a small grocery store. Actually we clean the shelves of it and bring it home to the States with us. It was great to find it on Amazon as no one in our area sells it; that I know of. It can be used on great bread as a spread or to cook with to liven up sauces or to marinate seafood, etc.
